Make sure the effects of the draft mode are made explicit:

  • watermark on first page
  • todo notes appear on the pages
  • black squares appear at the end of lines that are too long
  • figures do not appear by default and are replaced by empty squares to make compilation faster

When moving to final what happens is:

  • all todos as well as the list of todos disappear even if they are still some present in the .tex files
  • the microtype package is loaded to try to improve line breaks and spacing on the page
  • all figures appear
